Apology to my Body

I take advantage of you everyday,

I know I abused you, but what can I say?

I didn't know better, and though it is true,

What can I say to make it up to you?

My dear body, with me through thick and thin,

Though I never meant it, I have committed sins,

Loving life so much, I did not see,

What it was I was doing to thee.

Finally you shared your pain,

You gave my son life, I shall do the same,

Finally I see what you mean to me,

My body, my friend, I finally see.

Take better care of you each day,

I will meet your needs in every way,

For I love you my tired friend,

To you this apology I now send.
